          Welcome To My Blog!

About Me

2060396-1416873-thumbnail.jpgHey!  Thanks for finding me.  I have a theory.  I believe that this is the dawning of the age of 50-something.  (That would be me.)  I took early "retirement" and now here I am online, building a home business and leading others to do the same.  I absolutely love it.  Don't get me wrong, I also loved my career.

I am a registered nurse.  The first half of my career was in critical care nursing where my ordinary day in the cardiac ICU was extraordinary.  It was routine to literally bring people back from death to life almost every day. The second half of my career was in management.  I love management!  After getting my masters in Nursing Administration, I've been a Director of Nursing for the last 12 years.  I've been blessed with wonderful jobs my whole life.  And now is no exception.  I love being "retired," working out of my home.

InterNET NETwork marketing is the new business model for MLM.  I call it "internet MLM now." It can be on auto-pilot any time you want.  With a complete system in place, internet marketing will automatically generate leads and monetize them for you, while you take a break and travel the world.  I took this picture on our last cruise.  My husband and I love Hawaii.2060396-1416718-thumbnail.jpg

This is off the coast of Kona on the Big Island.  Well, enough about me.  Tell me about you.  I'm so glad you stopped by!  Leave comments for me and come back often!

To your continued success!

Email Marketing Plus How To Build Your List...

    Email Marketing Trick or Treat?

How To Send A Fancy Email

One early morning I decided to take a picture of the rising sun from my back yard.  I wanted to capture the beauty of dawn standing on our back porch.

It was a good looking shot of the sun coming up but what I didn't notice was how intent my yellow lab, Sparkle, was in watching me take the shot.

What was meant as an inspiring scene of day break from our pool in the early morning turned out to be...  Spooky Sparkle!

So now I have this great idea of writing a fancy email to my list about email marketing.  I'll call it "Email Marketing Trick or Treat?" because it's October.  Perfect!  And I'll include my Spooky Sparkle shot.

Then I realize - "ah Oh!  That means designing an HTML email - now that's Boo scary!

What if the spam filters think I should be banned from delivery just because I've used HTML?  And what if I don't know enough about HTML email to pull this off?  Afterall, I've only sent two emails to my list that I would call fancy emails.  And I'm not quite sure how I did it.

Plus, just the other day I read something like...

"When Bad HTML Happens To Good Email Campaigns"

"Yikes!  I don't want that to happen to me!" I thought.  But I really like fancy.  So, here's what I have put together for any of you who think beginning a newsletter or sending out fancy HTML emails are all just too Boo Scary!

Why should you do it?  Because I found out after just sending two fancy emails that my list (you all) like them.  I received more actual replies than ever before from many of you when I sent out my first Marketing For Beach Money email.

Don't Forget Direct Mail Marketing - Send Cards Too...So let's get started.  How 'bout them HTMLs inside your email? Simple mistakes can seriously affect delivery of your email or it can just look like an amateur attempt... which is even worse!

HTML coding for emails is much tricker than for websites but it's worth learning because attractive design always pulls in the reader and could significantly increase your conversion rates... BIG time.

Email Marketing A Few Of Terri's Terri-fic Tricks

    • Email Width: Websites aren't so picky about how wide your design is but many email companies are.  Keep your email, design and all, a fixed width, inside 500 -650 pixels wide.
    • Don't use JavaScript:  Some email companies believe it to be a security risk and will block your email.
    • While learning, don't use tables that are nested inside.
    • Using animated gif files are actually a good idea if used sparingly.
    • Always proof an HTML email by sending first to yourself and then to only a few.  Then check open rates, undelivered rates, etc. before sending an HTML email out to 100s.

Stay tuned!  More email trick or treat goodies will be posted here!

How To Write A Killer Newsletter

Imagine seeing a huge percentage of your newsletter subscribers joining your MLM business every month.  It absolutely can happen to you.

Permission-based email marketing with a killer newsletter isn't as hard as you might think.

Did you know that you could get started with a very short but powerful newsletter series that pulls in some of your more targeted prospects, step by step, so that at the end of the series, they can't wait to sign up.  Not only that but some will even stay so tuned in to your blog that they will buy anything else you might recommend.  Why?  Because you will have earned their trust.

It's the end result of the marketing maching you have in place that keeps funneling in hightly targeted prospects who know you and your work.

Your very best prospects are those who before they ever see your blog and opt-in to your sales funnel, your newsletter, your free report, etc. they will have met you where they hang out online.

That's where you find out exactly what they need, what they want, how to help them solve a problem, and many other perfect topics for your email marketing campaigns.  In other words, you must get to know your target market.

So to write a killer newsletter that recruits for you 24/7, here's what you need to do in preparation.  Charles Heflin's "ogres" process is a good description of what I mean:

    • Observe - Observe your target market, e.g. at Digg or BetterNetworkers
    • Gather  - Gather is that many networkers are just now getting online
    • Reward - Reward or recognize when they submit a great article, Digg it and  make genuine comments about why you like what they share
    • Engage - Engage prospects at social media sites by contributing value for free.  Post articles, respond in forums to problems mentioned with what's worked for you, etc.
    • Seek - seek out the leaders, connect with them, add friends, build a network.

It makes so much more sense for network marketers to network online to build their businesses where we can observe our target market, gather information about people we want to work with, engage them rather than family and friends who are not interested, and connect with people who are.

Networking with your target market online prepares you to totally blast through all competition with a killer newsletter developed from real world market research that only takes about 30 minutes per day.

So that is step one - observe.  Go join www.BetterNetworkers.com and find my profile.  Notice my friends and check out their profile.  What are they talking about in forums?  What are we all writing about?  Observe the social buzz and then come back here for step two in how to write a killer newsletter.
