Internet Marketing: The Big Picture Created By Terri StallcopBlogging for business is a big part of your internet business strategy, in fact, it is the center of your I-biz strategy. If you intend to make money online, you need to map out your strategy.
Use technical SEO in articles, social SEO using social media, and link to your blog. Inside your blog, make sure your content is rich with value. Your articles and social media marketing should be good, but the content in your blog should be great!
MONETIZE
Your blog is like the door to your sales funnel, but remember, it's not where you make the sale. It's where you lead people into the sales funnel. Think of your blog as your pre-sell site. Create links inside your excellent blog posts that take people to your sales letters and lead capture pages.
In other words, link from content outside your blog to your blog. And then link from your blog to your sales funnel. That's the big picture. If you link everywhere to your sales funnel, you fail to pre-sell.
PRE-SELL
You may or may not know that SiteBuildIt!(SBI) is a website builder program. The formula that SBI is famous for is CTPM:
Content-->Traffic-->PRE-SELL-->Monetize (CTPM)
What you are pre-selling is basically YOU.
You DO Need A Business Blog
Business Week says, "A [business] blog is simply the most explosive outbreak in the information world since the Internet itself... blogs are a phenomenon that you cannot ignore, postpone, or delegate. Given the changes barreling down upon us, blogs are not a business elective. They're a prerequisite."
CONTENT
Do you have a blog? It's now your prerequi-site :) of conducting business online. If you are not blogging for business you are missing the very center of The BIG Picture in your marketing efforts to grow your business online.
People have to be able to follow the bread crumbs, meaning that the big picture of internet marketing uses attraction marketing to bring people into your sales funnel. It means people need to get to know you first before they can trust you. People buy from businesses they trust. And with attraction marketing, you can be a business of one, let people get to know you online, and if they trust you, they will buy from you.
All business relationships start with trust. A blog is like your home. ;)
Invite others into your home using all kinds of outside bread crumbs that lead people to your blog, your home.
TRAFFIC
Here's an example of my internet traffic to this blog as a result of the bread crumbs that I leave...
Below is a screen shot of my referrers to this blog at this point in time per month - people who have followed the bread crumbs to my blog, a pie chart of my internet traffic to this blog. This blog, Internet MLM Now, is the central point of a lot of my internet marketing efforts out there in cyberspace.
See the highlighted group? Here's how that breaks down...
- Traffic Swarm is a traffic exchange website where I post free ads that have a link inside the ad. If you were at Traffic Swarm looking at my ads and click on them, many of them would bring you here, to this
blog. (29 clicks to this blog came from Traffic Swarm) - Synnd.com is a forum I belong to that has this blog listed inside my profile at this forum. (2 clicks)
- Hubpages.com is an article website where I write articles as part of my article marketing campaigns. Many of those articles link here, to this blog. (2 clicks)
- Digg.com is a syndication website where I submit blog posts out of this blog hoping people will "digg" it! (2 clicks)
- Ezinearticles.com is another place where I submit articles; many of them have a link to this blog inside the author resource box. (3 clicks)
- Squidoo.com is another place where I create sort of funky looking articles but it's a really powerful referrer. (5 clicks)
- GoArticles - same thing, another place where I submit articles that link to this blog, also a powerful referrer. ( 5 clicks)
On the left where I didn't highlight is where I leave more bread crumbs - these are extremely powerful referrers:
- Stumbleupon.com is a bookmarketing site that is my best referrer. (25 clicks)
- Direct hits to my blog is my second best referrer. These are most likely from the email marketing that I do. If you are on my email list, these are your clicks! THANK YOU! :)
So as I analyze this particular look at the statistics for this blog, it's clear to me that I need to leave way more bread crumbs at Stumbleupon, Squidoo and goArticles plus ramp up my email marketing.
